How to Update Claims Mapping Policy Assignments
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for assigning or unassigning claims mapping policies to Azure applications using Resource Admin. Claims mapping policies are reusable and can be assigned to multiple applications as needed.
Prerequisites
- Access to the Resource Admin portal.
- Permission to manage Azure applications and claims mapping policies.
Steps to Assign Claims Mapping Policies
1. Log in to Resource Admin
- Open the Resource Admin portal.
- Enter your credentials and log in.
2. Access Claims Mapping Policies
- From the Resource Type dropdown menu, select Applications.
- Click on Claims Mapping Policies to view the list of available policies.
- Use the search bar or filters (e.g., target system, claim sets) to locate the desired policy.
3. View Policy Details
- Click the Details button for the selected policy.
- Review the policy details, including its user-friendly name, technical name, and tenant name.
- Use the Claims tab to view claims within the policy and the Applications tab to see currently assigned applications.
4. Assign Applications to the Policy
- Click Assign/Unassign Applications to initiate the workflow.
- Search for applications by name and select one or more applications using the checkboxes.
- Click Next to proceed.
5. Review and Confirm Assignments
- Review the summary of selected applications to assign or unassign.
- Click Submit to apply the changes.
- A confirmation message will indicate the successful assignment of the policy to the selected applications.
Steps to Verify Assignments
1. Navigate to Applications
- From the Resource Admin portal, select Applications from the Resource Type dropdown menu.
- Search for the specific application using the search bar or filtering options (e.g., Azure applications only).
2. Review Claims Mapping Policy
- Click the Friendly Name link or Details button for the application.
- On the Overview page, navigate to Token Configurations > Claims Mapping Policy to view the assigned policy and its claims.
